Tân Hồng Lâu Mộng là bộ phim truyền hình chuyển thể từ tiểu thuyết “Hồng Lâu Mộng” của Tào Tuyết Cần, bấm máy từ năm 2008. Bộ phim quy tụ những gương mặt trẻ của làng điện ảnh Trung Quốc như Tưởng Mộng Tiệp, Dương Dương, Vu Tiêu Đồng, Cao Dương…dưới sự chỉ đạo của đạo diễn Lý Thiếu Hồng.
Với đoạn kết được thay đổi 100% so với phiên bản gốc, "Tân Hồng Lâu Mộng" đã tạo được tiếng vang lớn và được đánh giá cao hơn cả phiên bản cũ của năm 1987.
Nằm trong dự án làm lại “tứ đại danh tác” của điện ảnh Trung Quốc, bộ phim Tân Hồng Lâu Mộng được coi là một trong những bộ phim đáng chú ý nhất năm 2010. Vì vậy, sau Tân Tam Quốc, Tân Hồng Lâu Mộng chính là bộ phim tiếp theo được đưa lên “mổ xẻ”, so sánh.

Hồng Lâu Mộng (1987)

Tân Hồng Lâu Mộng (2010)
Trong phiên bản lần này, khi kết thúc phim, nhà họ Giả không lụi tàn như trong phiên bản năm 1987. Bảo Ngọc và Giả Lan đi học khiến cho nhà họ Giả lại có hy vọng vực dậy. Đạo diễn Lý Thiếu Hồng cho biết, nguyên nhân có sự khác biệt này là do tân bản lần này dựa theo 40 hồi cuối do Cao Ngạc viết tiếp, còn đoạn kết trong phiên bản 1987 lại do các nhà biên kịch biên soạn lại.
